Comfort Endurance Bikepacker!
In Salsa’s family of drop-bar mountain bikes, Cutthroat is the one that was born to run. Cutthroat brings speed to the mixed surface, ultra-endurance bikepacking race scene. Every feature was evaluated and designed to obliterate long distance cycling route and event records. An evolutionary leap forward from the Fargo, Cutthroat is all about speed and comfort; full carbon, Class 5 Vibration Reduction System, and racing-inspired geometry make for a quick bike that won’t leave you pummeled as you ride alongside a rising moon.
Features of the Salsa CUTTHROAT Carbon GRX 810 Dropbar Mountainbike
- Cutthroat Geometry – Salsa took what they’ve learned from their tried and true drop-bar mountain bike geometry and updated it for speed. 445 mm chainstays will get you up and over everything from technical singletrack trails, two-track, gravel, and long, desolate paved roads quickly, while still preserving the stability and comfort endurance riders need to keep at it day after day. Designed for optimized fit with the Salsa Cowchipper or Woodchipper Bars.
- Interior Junction Control Molding Technology – Salsa use interior molds at all the main front triangle junctions during layup and curing. This allows for precise control of wall thickness and inner wall smoothness in these areas. This process increases compaction and reduces voids and wrinkles in critical high stress zones. The end result is a top quality carbon frame that delivers consistent high performance.
- Class 5™ VRS – The Class 5™ Vibration Reduction System has specially shaped seatstays with a tall, thin, vertically oriented profile that promotes vertical compliance by allowing the seatstays to “flex” outwards on impacts. The horizontally oriented chainstays work to resist torque and maintain a laterally stiff rear end. The seatstays and chainstays lack bridges, furthering the full length of the stays to contribute to flexibility. And a rear thru-axle delivers precise tracking while allowing the seatstays to provide that incredible compliance.
- 1x & 2x Drivetrain Compatible – This frame is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrain setups.
- Full-Length Housing Cable Routing – Full-length housing improves shifting performance in poor conditions and increases use time between maintenance intervals.
- Multiple Bottle Cages – Salsa’s size small can carry up to 4 waterbottles (with two on the fork via Three-pack mounts), with room for 5 on their medium through x-large sizes.
