Hardtails aren’t just for cross-country riding anymore. Hardtails are much more capable now with longer suspension travel and modern trail geometry. The Santa Cruz Chameleon 8 29″ D Bike is built for riders who like to sculpt their ideal bike and aren’t afraid to experiment. It has an aluminum frame with 130mm of travel on the front. The low-slung top tube and progressive geometry mean this bike blends into whatever surroundings you place it. The frame features internal cable routing, 29″ wheels, the option to run single-speed, clearance for up to 29×2.6″ or 27.5×2.8″, and mounts for your cargo.
The D version of the Santa Cruz Chameleon 8 comes with a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain. With a 32T chainring up front and an ultra-wide 11-50T cassette on the rear, you’ll have no issues climbing steep hills or pedaling through demanding conditions. SRAM Level hydraulic disc brakes provide highly reliable stopping power so you can descend under control. WTB ST i30 TCS 2.0 rims are paired with Maxxis Tires that can be set up tubeless for a smoother ride, better traction, and fewer flats. With the SDG Tellis Dropper Post, you’ll be able to quickly lift and lower your saddle with the press of a lever.
